This 16" x 16" piece is composed of Ponderosa Pine bark collected from the Inn Town Campground in Nevada City, CA.
This is a political satire piece displaying the tone deaf choices of the current administration.
These jigsaw puzzle shaped pieces of bark help to protect from environmental threats such as insects and a low-intensity, surface fire. In January of 2025, the wildfires in Southern California and the devastating aftermath were on my mind. While working on the piece, I added ash to represent the loss.
Ponderosa Pine bark, ashes, acrylic paint, spray paint, birch wood canvas, and epoxy.
